Amazon Prime Day is an annual online shopping event hosted by online retail giant Amazon. The sale usually lasts 48-65 hours and sees thousands of products go on sale across the site. This year, the sale starts at 12.01am on Tuesday July 12 and runs until 11.59pm on Wednesday July 12, however customers will still be able to shop deals from Amazon international into Thursday July 14, giving them a whopping 65 hours of sale to enjoy. In a press release, Janet Menzies, the country manager for Amazon Australia, said, "We know that Australians are looking for value right now and we are thrilled to offer Prime members bigger and better Prime Day deals this year. Prime members will have exclusive access to incredible savings from big brands and small and medium local businesses, meaning there will be savings to be made no matter what you are looking for. Prime Day 2021 marked the biggest two days for small local businesses on Amazon.com.au at the time and we are excited to be putting them front and centre again through our Shop Local Businesses Store this year."
